INTERIOR STYLING

Picture
The Power of Dreams, thanks to N and J for use of their photo!

Every customer is an individual and this is reflected in the boats that we are asked to build. We don't have a production line and we don't have off-the-shelf boats. This means that the systems and styling can be made to suit the customer's need exactly: we work with you to realise your dream boat.

The engineering can be relatively simple or extremely complex as in category C boat.

Furniture can be used to add interest to the interior, we can work with your own beloved antique cabinet or build something similar or we can keep the storage as a seamless part of the lining so it is unobtrusive.

Upholstery, curtains, blinds, worksurfaces and tiling are a practical consideration and essential to the finish of the space. They can be used to keep everything practical and clean or add a magical extra touch.

We also offer a design service for bespoke items which can really add something extra special. This includes worksurfaces in different materials such as copper, marquetry/inlaid designs on panels among other things. Please contact us to discuss your ideas.

SOME INTERIOR IDEAS

SLEEK AND MINIMAL

Spacious narrowboat saloon
Ash gives a great interior finish, it has a golden tone which works well with pale colours or with richer trim such as sapele for contrast.
brilliant cleanable vanity unit
Floors and work surfaces can be used to add contrast or a bold spash of colour or compliment the tones of the cabin walls.

COSY WITH RICH TONES

Oak is always popular and can be used in conjunction with other finishes and rich upholstery and natural tiles such as slate or terracotta, but we can use other woods such as walnut, sapele and bamboo.

PAINTED BRIGHT AND LIGHT

Unusual barge bedroom
Paint can be used to introduce light and space even in the smallest narrowboat. It can give a look that is traditional or contemporary and work well with really bright colours such as laminates and tiling.
Unusual barge saloon
We can use lighting to add warmth or enhance the mood of a space. Ribbon lights in single or multiple colours installed under the gunwale add that ectra special touch.
