COMMISSIONING A BOAT:     THE BUILD PROCESS

Picture

How does it start?

So you've decided that a second hand boat is not going to give you what you want. And you don't want to buy an 'off the shelf' stock boat.  If you come to us we will work with you to give you that boat that is exactly right for you.

We'll start with the day you take your new boat as this is the most important day for you!

Planning

We meet our customers to discuss requirements before starting a build. We will send out a starting point specification and tailor this to meet your needs. We can work from sketches and drawings or produce mock-ups and visualisations .

The contract

We work to the British Marine contract. Once the specification is agreed we draw up a detailed small scale and large scale floorplan. You will receive the owners manual, system drawings and other info with the RCD pack at handover.

Steelwork

Once the steelwork starts we will document the build with photos on your dedicated blog. We will invite you to visit during the construction stages so that you can see the boat 'in the flesh'.

Systems

We fit the engine and associated systems in-house. We are specialists in alternative propulsion and can design and install complex systems to suit your requirements.

Paintwork

We offer exterior paintwork to any stage of finish: we can give you the boat primed or painted up with or without signpainting.
We can design personalised coachlines, signpainting and illustrations to give your boat in the most personal finishing touch.

The launch

Our contract price includes launch of your boat at Redhill Marina  We launch most boats a few weeks prior to completion as some work is better done on the water.
You can request for your boat to launched elsewhere for example we have had widebeam boats launched in Watford for travel to moorings locally or in London.

Handover

On handover day we will carry out an acceptance trial/ familiarisation with the boat and its systems. This involves a trip on the local water to ensure you are comfortable with handling the boat, demonstration of appliances and a discussion of the owner's manual.

Aftercare

The really important part of the build!
We guarantee all of our work for one year. We will usually visit a boat a few weeks after handover to check for any movement and attend to anything that needs tweaking. We hope you will be very happy with your boat!
